About Piano Lessons

My goal as a piano instructor is to foster a lifelong appreciation of music.

During lessons, students learn how to read music notation, study piano technique, develop musicality, and an understanding of music theory. Most importantly, I work with students and families to establish and achieve goals they want to reach through piano instruction. The program of study and lessons are structured based on individual education plans, tailored to each learner’s needs toward the attainment of those goals. Students must have a piano or keyboard at home to practice and prepare for the next week’s lesson.

Private lessons are offered once a week for 30-60 minutes for students of all ages and skill levels. Students receive one on one instruction with lessons structured to challenge students while still allowing them to progress at a comfortable pace.

Free Consultation & Introductory Lesson

Please take advantage of the free lesson and consultation. This service is offered to speak to parents and students about their goals and expectations, assess their current level, as well as provide an opportunity to test interaction between potential student and instructor. During this free session, our lesson policies and our expectations will be explained, and we will engage in playing  a little music to get students excited about learning piano.

Performance Opportunities

There are several performance opportunities for students. Studio recitals are held twice a year, but students are offered a variety of programs outside the studio with the Phoenix Music Teachers Association. These include the Piano Ensemble Festival, Music at the Mall, and the Arizona Study Program. All students are encouraged to perform and gain confidence through this experience, however their participation is not mandatory.
